  three times a week in the kingdom hall in miami, my brother and i strove to sit perfectly still in our chairs.

  our mother carried a wooden spoon in her purse and was quick to take us outside for beatings if we fidgeted.

  i sat onstage in the kingdom hall in surrey, england, where my father's job had taken us.

  hey did you get to see martha stewart's apprentice?

  i found it nice to watch because its not like a dog eat dog-fest like trump's show.

  plus in an unrelated story lol, a women's concept, its main purpose is to be reliable and practical, instead of men's cars which are i guess fast and sporty.

  i find the concept of taking select warnings of the medical and science world, to disfellowship members, and ignoring others ... all the more interesting as i think about it.

  after all, heart desease is the biggest killer in the americas.

  heart desease and heart related deaths are often linked to and not exclusive to; obesity, high cholesterol, fatty foods, not exercising, high stress, etc.. with this in mind, i dare someone to call an elder and report that they saw one of the local witnesses eating at mcdonalds, even though the doctor warned them it could kill them.

  minneapolis and saint paul got hit with a tornado, miami got hit with a hurricane, and it's heading west to houston, a hurricane took out new orleans and an airplane is about to crash at lax!!!

  KH meeting - boring!

  i'm not a jw but a friend of mine who is a jw invited me to the memorial service at the kh this year.

  i was raised catholic but now i'm agnostic/atheist.

  one thing that struck me was how horribly sterile and boring the memorial service was.

  Yeah, you’ve pretty much hit the nail squarely on the head. Although, like Legolas my KH was always packed on memorial. Not like you could fit a thousand people in the building, but a normal Sunday would average 125 people, plus or minus. The memorial would average about 250.

  ok, in another thread, a poster referred to incidents of "sisters" out in "field service" attempting to "hit" on the males they encountered at the doors.

  i have personally had this experience, and also noticed that the last time i visited a kingdom hall, the females in the hall were very, very flirty (including those who were married).

  it was as if i had entered a place inhabited soley by women who had been denied male companionship for years!

  Suddenly I understand why all those nibby nosed sisters, mostly all wives of elders, were always butting into other people’s business. They had to do something to fill the void by the total lack of affection and sexual attention from their spouses.

  Have you ever heard of radiometric dating? Yes the evidence can be interperated in several different manners however, the changes to rates of radiometric decay required to make the age of the Earth very young are considered irrevelant (1% margin of error) even by the scientests that porport such theorys.

  just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time out to post encouraging words in my topic on "college or pioneer?
